Privacy Policy

The short version

BeatDrill does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on any server. There are no user accounts, no cloud sync, and no analytics or advertising SDKs anywhere in the app. Everything BeatDrill records or saves — your takes, your scores, your settings — stays on your iPhone, in your control, until you delete it.

What BeatDrill accesses on your device

Microphone. BeatDrill asks for microphone access so it can record you singing, scatting, or humming a rhythm and score its timing. That processing — acoustic echo cancellation and onset detection — happens entirely on your device, in real time. If you decline microphone access, BeatDrill’s Tap mode still works fully without it.

What BeatDrill stores, and where

Your recorded takes (as WAV audio files), your best and latest scores per exercise, your progress through the curriculum, and your app preferences (like appearance and tap-sound settings) are all stored locally on your device, using standard iOS mechanisms (UserDefaults and files in your app’s Documents directory). None of this is uploaded to us or to any third party. Deleting the app, or deleting an individual take from the Progress tab, permanently removes that data from your device.

In-app purchases

BeatDrill Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or handle your payment details — card numbers, billing address, or Apple ID password. Apple’s own privacy policy governs the purchase transaction itself.

No accounts, no analytics, no advertising

BeatDrill has no sign-up, no login, and no user profile of any kind. It does not include any analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising software development kit (SDK), and it does not track you across other apps or websites.

Children’s privacy

Because BeatDrill collects no personal data from any user, of any age, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. There is nothing for a parent or guardian to request the deletion of, since nothing is ever transmitted off the device in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If BeatDrill’s data practices ever change — for example, if a future version adds an optional cloud-sync feature — this page will be updated first, with a new effective date above, before that change ships.
